Lady Choctaws Roll to Sweep of Alcorn State

CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team picked up their second straight victory with a 7-0 sweep of Alcorn State on Thursday afternoon at the MC Tennis Complex.

The Lady Choctaws improved to 3-3 on the season, while the Braves fell to 1-14.
 

DOUBLES ACTION
  - With the Braves playing with just four players in the match, MC needed to picked up just one doubles victory to clinch the point.
  - Paulina Cota and Alisa Morozova made quick work at the #2 position, grabbing a 6-0 victory to give MC a 1-0 lead.
  - Aneta Golawska and Tori Roberts tacked on a 6-3 victory at #1 to leave no doubt of the early lead.
 

SINGLES ACTION
  - Again, playing with just four players, MC took a 3-0 victory into singles play as they had default wins at #5 and #6, needing just one point for the match victory.
  - Ely Alas gave MC the match-clinching point without dropping a single game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4.
  - Morozova (#1) and Cota (#2) made quick work of their opponents, getting straight-set wins to improve the lead to 6-0.
  - Golawska went three sets in her match at #3 but gave MC the clean sweep with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5), 10-7 victory.
 

NEXT UP
  - The Lady Choctaws will be heading to Mobile this weekend for a pair of raod matches.
  - They will face Mobile on Saturday (Mar. 7) and Spring Hill on Monday (Mar. 9).
