ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College softball team could muster only 10 total hits in a doubleheader sweep at the hands of Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday afternoon at Sully Anderson Field.

The Lady Choctaws (15-9) dropped the opening game on a walk-off hit by a score of 3-2, while the Tigers (5-19) picked up a 5-2 win in the finale.

GAME ONE: OUACHITA BAPTIST 3, MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 2

HOW IT HAPPENEND
 - The Tigers were able to string together a pair of two-out, run-scoring hits in the opening inning to grab an early 2-0 lead.
 - The lead remained 2-0 until the 4th when MC took advantage of two Ouachita errors to put runners on first and second with two out.

Gracie Trahan drew a 10-pitch walk and
Rayne Minor doubled to right-center field to score
Ashley Elsensohn and
Kendal Daniels to knot the game at 2-2.
 - The Lady Choctaws would load the bases again in the 5th, but a line drive double play ended the threat and the game would remain tied.
 - The game would stay tied until the 7th when the Tigers put together a pair of two-out hits, the second of which was a run-scoring double to grab the walk-off win.

KEY STATS
 - Minor led the MC offense with three of the team's four hits and both RBI.
 -
Hannah Creel (6-5) took the loss in the circle, despite holding OBU to just three earned runs with three strikeouts over 6.2 innings.
 - Sloan Precure and Callie Jourdan led the Tigers with two hits apiece, including the game-winning double by Precure.
 - Madison Miller (4-6) tossed the complete game for OBU with seven strikeouts and four walks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - It was the Lady Choctaws that would strike first in the second game as
Morgan Bradford hit her third home run of the season, a solo shot to right field to take a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning.
 - The Tigers responded with a run of their own in the 2nd on a two-out bunt single.
 - A turning point of the game came in the top of the 4th when
Baylee Freudenberg led off with a walk and pinch-runner
Paige Hulin moved up to second on a wild pitch.
 - Bradford singled to right field, but Hulin was called out at the plate, despite appearing to beat the throw.
 - They would add a go-ahead run in the 4th and put up another run in the 5th to push the lead to 3-1.
 - OBU snatched two more runs in the 6th to extend the advantage to 5-1 going to the 7th.
 -
Shelby Carlson gave MC a lift off the bench with a double and Minor drove her in with a single, but the Tigers held on for the 5-2 win.

KEY STATS
 - Bradford had a team-high two hits in the game and one of the RBI on the solo home run.
 - Minor had her fourth hit of the day in the nightcap, also driving in a run in the final inning.

Avery Barnett (7-3) took the loss in the circle, giving up 11 hits and three earned runs over 6.0 innings.
 - Nicole Arreola (1-5) got the win for OBU, giving up six hits and two earned runs over 7.0 innings, inducing 12 ground-ball outs in the game.
 - Offensively, Tally Turnbow led the way with two doubles and an RBI, while Precure and Heather Brown also had two hits in the contest.

-The Lady Choctaws will be back in action this weekend in Carrollton, Ga. when they travel to face West Georgia in a three-game series.
-The teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday at noon with a single game on Sunday at noon. All times are Central.
