CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball offense struggled for the second straight day and dropped a Gulf South Conference series to Union with 2-0 loss on Sunday at the MC Softball Complex.
The Lady Choctaws fell to 10-7 on the year with a 3-3 GSC record, while the Bulldogs improved to 13-7 with a 4-2 league mark.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 - Pitching ruled the weekend and continued on Sunday with both teams being scoreless over the first three innings.
 - The Bulldogs broke through in the 4th with the only run-scoring hit of the day, a two-run home run by Gabby Morris to give the game its final score.
 - The Lady Choctaws had the leadoff hitter reach in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th innings but were unable to get a run across.
 - The best scoring chance came in the 6th when MC loaded the bases with two outs thanks to a hit-by-pitch and a pair of walks.

Annemarie Peavy sent a shot to the right-field wall but the Bulldogs made the catch to end the threat.

KEY STATS
 - Morris (7-1) tossed her second shutout in as many days, holding MC to just one hit with nine strikeouts and four walks.
 - She also provided the offense with two of the four hits for Union, inlcuding the two-run home run.
 -
Avery Barnett (5-2) took the loss for MC, giving up three hits and two earned runs over 3.0 innings.
 -
Hannah Creel tossed the final 4.0 innings and allowed just one hit with three strikeouts.

 - The Lady Choctaws are scheduled to be back in action on Tuesday when they host Ouachita Baptist for a doubleheader at 3:00 p.m. at the MC Softball Complex.
