PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The Mississippi College softball team was eliminated from the 2019 Gulf South Conference Tournament with a 7-2 loss to #15 UAH on Friday morning at the UWF Softball Complex.
The Lady Choctaws fell to 38-14 on the season and will wait to hear their fate for the NCAA postseason with the selection show being Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
>> The Lady Choctaws got on the board first in the second inning as freshman
Annemarie Peavy and senior
Kristen Qualls ripped a pair of singles to lead things off, and Peavy came home to score on a double steal.
>> The Chargers answered in their half of the second, scoring three runs, including two unearned to take a 3-1 lead.
>> They would tack on two more runs in the third as Mackenzie Nutt tripled home a pair of runs with two outs to extend the lead to 5-1.
>> UAH would push the lead out to 7-1 with a pair of runs in the fifth on RBI singles by Nutt and Taylor Wascavage.
>> MC cut into the lead in the sixth when Qualls doubled home Peavy with one out, but they could not get the score any closer than 7-2.
>> Senior
Alexia Harmon doubled in the seventh, but the Lady Choctaws could not mount a late comeback.

>> Qualls led the MC offense with two hits, including a double and an RBI.
>> Freshman
Hannah Creel (16-5) took the loss for the Lady Choctaws, giving up eight hits with five earned runs and two strikeouts over 5.0 innings.
>> Senior
Cori Cooper tossed a perfect sixth inning with two strikeouts for the Lady Choctaws.
>> Nutt led the UAH offens with two hits, two runs scored and three RBI, while Kiara Akles also had a pair of hits.
>> Layton Murphy (11-6) grabbed the win in the circle, allowing five hits and four walks over the complete game effort.
