CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team used big-scoring innings to cap a four-game season sweep of Miles College with two wins on Wednesday afternoon at the MC Softball Complex.
The Lady Choctaws (36-11) cruised to a 12-0 win in the opener and came back to pick up a 6-4 win over the Golden Bears (7-36) in the nightcap.

GAME ONE: #25 MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE 12, MILES 0 (5 INNINGS)
HOW IT HAPPENED
>> After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Choctaws got the offense going in the second with six runs, starting with a solo home run by senior
Kristen Qualls, the 34th of her career.
>> Junior
Morgan Bradford tripled in the next at-bat and scored on a bunt single by sophomore
Ashley Elsensohn to push the lead to 2-0.
>> Sophomore
Kayla Murphy and freshman
Gracie Trahan tallied back-to-back RBI singles, and MC would tack on two more runs to take a 6-0 lead.
>> Bradford drove in a freshman
Grace Hahn with a single in the third inning to give the Lady Choctaws a 7-0 advantage.
>> MC would pour it on in the fourth with five more runs as freshman
Annemarie Peavy and senior
Alexia Harmon drilled back-to-back RBI doubles to make the score 9-0.
>> After an RBI single by senior
Brianna Caldwell, Qualls delivered the final blow with a two-run single that scored sophomore
Paige Hulin and junior
Carly Crawford.
KEY STATS
>> All the offense was plenty for sophomore
Madi Lancaster (4-0), who allowed just two hits with two strikeouts and one walk in the complete game effort in the circle.
>> Qualls, Bradford and Trahan each had two hits in the game, Trahan and Harmon scored a team-high two runs.
>> The three RBI was a team-high for Qualls, while seven other Lady Choctaws brought home runs.
>> Zamiyah Williams (1-11) took the loss for the Golden Bears, allowing 11 hits and 11 earned runs over 4.0 innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
>> The second game was much more up in the balance as Miles jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the second inning.
>> Kiana Terry and Zakierra Webb had RBI singles as the Golden Bears got things going in the second contest.
>> MC answered with a run of their own in the second as Trahan singled home Bradford to cut the score to 3-1.
>> The big inning came for the Lady Choctaws in the fourth as they put up five runs to grab a 6-3 advantage.
>> With the bases loaded, Trahan came up with a big-two run double that tied the game and gave her four hits on the day.
>> Peavy struck the big blow of the game with a three-run home run that gave MC their first lead of the contest.
>> Miles would double home a run in the seventh, but the Lady Choctaws would hold on for the victory.
KEY STATS
>> Peavy and Trahan led the MC offense with two hits and three RBI apiece, while Harmon and Bradford also had two hits each.
>> Bradford scored a team-high two runs, giving her four hits and three runs scored in the doubleheader.

Hannah Creel (16-3) struck out seven and walked just one over the complete game effort.
>> Magen Rich (2-17) took the loss for Miles, allowing 10 hits and six earned runs over 7.0 innings.
