CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- Senior
Brianna Caldwell hit a pair of home runs to help lift the Mississippi College softball team to a three-game sweep of Lee University with a 7-6 win over Sunday afternoon at Butler Field.
The Lady Choctaws won their fifth straight and improved to 20-6 on the year with an 8-3 conference mark, while the Flames fell to 11-18 with a 1-10 league record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
>> The Lady Choctaws wasted no time getting on the board as junior
Shayla McKissock led off with a triple and scored on a squeeze bunt from senior
Alexia Harmon.
>> The Flames responded with a run of their own in the first as Kayla Louie led off with a single and scored on a groundout by Taylor de Adder.
>> Caldwell hit her first long ball of the game to lead off the second inning and give the Lady Choctaws a 2-1 advantage.
>> Kiley Longmire tied the game right back up for Lee with an RBI single to score Claudia Jones in the bottom of the frame.
>> Both teams scored twice in the third inning, as well, first with Caldwell notching her second home run of the contest, this time a two-run shot to score Harmon.
>> Longmire drove in two more runs of her own in the third to tie the score at 4-4 after three innings.
>> The Flames would take their first lead since the first inning of the opening game, as de Adder singled home Louie in the fourth to give Lee the 5-4 advantage.
>> After a scoreless fifth, junior
Morgan Bradford tied the score in the sixth with an RBI double that brought home McKissock after she singled with one out.
>> Harmon drove in the go-ahead run with her third hit of the day, singling home Bradford to take a 6-5 lead to the bottom of the sixth.
>> The Flames responded again, however, as they took advantage of an MC error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Abby McKinney to knot things up going to the seventh.
>> The last inning saw Peavy lead off with a single and Nieto send a ringing double off the left field fence to chase her home with the eventual game-winning run.
>> The Flames would get the tying run into scoring position in the bottom half, but senior
Cori Cooper recorded a looking strikeout to end it.

KEY STATS
>> The Lady Choctaws tallied 13 hits for the second straight game, including five extra-base hits with two doubles, a triple and Caldwell's two home runs.
>> Caldwell finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored, doubling her home run total for the season in the contest.
>> Harmon and Nieto each had three hits to lead the MC offense, while Harmon drove in a pair of runs and McKissock joined Caldwell with two runs scored.
>> Cooper (6-4) came out of the bullpen and tossed the final 4.0 innings to get the win, recording six strikeouts with one earned run allowed.

Madi Lancaster got the start in the circle and pitched the first 3.0 innings of the game.
>> Longmire led the Lee offense with three hits and three RBI, while Louie and De Adder had two hits apiece and de Adder drove in a pair.
>> De Adder (5-6) took the loss for the Flames with 13 hits and seven earned runs allowed, striking out six with three walks.

>> The Lady Choctaws will be back on the road for a Tuesday doubleheader at Miles, starting at 2:00 p.m. in Fairfield, Ala. MC will get back into conference play next weekend when they play a three-game set at Auburn Montgomery, beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m.
