MIAMI SHORES, Fla. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought road match to Barry University, 2-1, in overtime on Saturday afternoon at Buccaneer Field.
The Choctaws fell to 1-1 on the season, while the Bucs improved to 2-0 with wins over Delta State and MC to open the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The match would go into the half scoreless with the Choctaws putting a pair of shots on goal and goalkeeper
Keaton Halbert making three saves against the Bucs.
- Barry would open the scoring in the 69th minute when Ander Urkidi found the back of the net on a double-assist from James Kirkham and Amponsah Asamoah.
- The Choctaws would strike back with the equalizer in the 84th minute as
Wanner Paiz scored a clutch goal on an assist from
Andy Alanis.
- The game would remain tied over the final six minutes of regulation and head to overtime with the score tied at 1-1.
- It did not take long for the Bucs to end the match as Francisco Greco took advantage of a turnover at midfield and scored from about 26 yards away.

- Halbert would finish the night with six saves on 13 total shots with eight coming on goal.
- Paiz had a team-best two shots on goal, while
Owen Connelly and
Victor Bazan took two shots of their own.
- Both teams had three yellow cards in the match, while the Bucs had 15 fouls to 11 for the Choctaws.
