Lady Choctaws Finish Off Sweep of Union

CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team finished off a series sweep of Union with an 8-0 win in five innings on Saturday afternoon at the MC Softball Complex.

The Lady Choctaws improved to 19-11 with a 12-8 mark in the Gulf South Conference, while the Bulldogs dropped to 11-21 and 5-15 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Choctaws would score the eventual game-winning run on a two-out RBI single by junior Alexia Harmon that drove in junior Brianna Caldwell in the second inning.
- MC would end up scoring four unearned runs in the second as sophomore Shayla McKissock doubled hom Harmon and senior Katherine Lee singled hom McKissock.
- Caldwell extended the lead to 5-0 in the third inning with her eighth home run of the season down the left field line.
- McKissock drove in another run with a single in the third as Qualls scored and Aron came home to score on an error by the Bulldogs.
- Harmon drove in the final run of the day with a walk-off single up the middle that brought home freshman Jessica Aron in the fifth inning. It was Harmon's second walk-off hit in as many games after she hit a walk-off home run in an 8-7 win on Friday night.
