CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team will head to Huntsville, Ala. this week to compete in the Charger Chillout 2.0 at the Huntsville Metro-Kiwanis Sportsplex.
After the threat of rain forced a change in schedule, the Lady Choctaws (1-1) are now set to face Missouri-St. Louis at noon on Thursday (Feb. 8) and Bellarmine at 2:00 p.m. They will follow that up with a pair of games on Friday (Feb. 9) against McKendree (2:00 pm) and Henderson State (4:00 pm).
With rain expected in the area on Friday night into Saturday, the remainder of the weekend schedule is to be determined.

The Lady Choctaws opened the 2018 season by splitting a pair of games at the rain-shortened Southern Softball Showdown in Columbus, Ga. MC fell in extra innings to Palm Beach Atlantic by a score of 5-4 before pulling away for an 8-3 win over Georgia Southwestern.
Senior
Katherine Lee set the school record for career stolen bases with four on the weekend, giving her 85 for her career. The Monroe, La. native hit .600 with a .750 on-base percentage and three runs scored. Freshman
Kayla Murphy went 2-for-4 with a team-high three RBI, while sophomore
Shayla McKissock went 2-for-4 with the eventual game-winning RBIs against GSW.
Junior
Adrianna Morgan tossed a complete game in the win over the Canes, giving up just four hits and one earned run. Senior
Kristen Gardner took the loss against PBA, despite allowing just two earned runs over 7.0 innings pitched.
