ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team picked up a pair of wins in their final day of competition in the Ouachita Baptist Invitational on Friday, Feb, 23. The Lady Choctaws improved to 6-0 on the season with an 8-1 win over Angelo State, and a 9-0 shutout win against Henderson State.
MATCH ONE vs. ANGELO STATE
The Lady Choctaws grabbed the early 3-0 advantage after taking all three double's flights against the #10-ranked team in the south central region.
Brenna Keller and
AnneMarie Kimball (8-2), and
Aneta Golawska and
Tori Roberts (8-3) improved to a team-best 5-0 in doubles play wins over their Angelo State counterparts.
In singles,
Brenna Keller (6-3, 6-4),
Sofia Gonzalez-Carrera (6-2, 6-1) and A. Kimball (6-3, 6-2) all picked up straight-set victories in the match. A. Kimball, Golawska and R. Kimball all upped their record to 5-0 with their wins.

MATCH TWO vs. HENDERSON STATE
The nightcap victory over Henderson State marked for the Lady Choctaws sixth straight win, and the fourth time in six matches that the Lady Choctaws have shutout their opponents.
In doubles play, the Lady Choctaws took all three doubles flights to grab the 3-0 lead over the Reddies. The double's sweep added to MC's impressive run of six-straight contests to open the year in which MC has not dropped a single matchup in doubles. Double's number one

Tori Roberts (8-1) both saw their records climb to a team-best 5-0 in doubles play with their wins.
In singles,
Sofia Gonzalez-Carrera (6-2, 7-5) and A. Kimball (6-2, 6-3) both downed their opponents in straight sets. Junior
Tori Roberts made her MC debut in singles play, knocking off Lorish Puluspene 8-2 in the number six flight. A. Kimball, Golawska and R. Kimball all saw their singles record bolster to a team-best 6-0 with their victories on the night.
The Lady Choctaws will resume play on Wednesday, Feb. 28 when they host West Alabama in Gulf South Conference action. First serve from the MC Tennis Complex is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
