CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team improved to 3-0 on their young season with a 9-0 win over Alcorn State on Tuesday afternoon at the MC Tennis Complex. The wins marks for the second-straight contest in which the Lady Choctaws have shutout their opponent.

In doubles action,
Brenna Keller and
AnneMarie Kimball and
Aneta Golawska and
Tori Roberts both saw their doubles records climb to a team-best 3-0 on the year. A. Kimball and Keller knocked off Bianca Birkenstock and Anastasia Vaganova 8-1 in the number one spot, while Golawska and Roberts won the tiebreaker 7-3 to claim the dramatic 9-8 win in the number two spot against Ammaarah Tim and Alessandra Maganuco.

Sofia Gonzalez-Carrera (6-1, 6-1) and A. Kimball (6-4, 6-4) all downed their opponents in straight sets. Bueno, A. Kimball, Golawska and
RebeccaGrace Kimball all improved their single's record to a team-best 3-0 with their wins in their respective matchups.

The Lady Choctaws will return to action on Friday, Feb. 23 when they will take part in the Ouachita Baptist Invitational in Arkadelphia, Ark. Â
