CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team is back in Gulf South Conference play this weekend as they travel to Memphis, Tenn. on Friday Oct. 5 to face Christian Brothers and then travel to Jackson, Tenn. to face Union on Oct. 7.
MC NOTES
- The Choctaws will bring in an overall record of 5-3-0 and 3-2 in GSC play.
- MC split their last two GSC contest this past weekend. The Choctaws defeated Shorter 7-2 and had a hard fought 3-1 loss against Lee.
- The top two playmakers for the Choctaws so far this season have been the captains
Connor Johnson and
Rafael Costa. Johnson is the team's leading goal scorer with five on the year and Costa has netted two goals along with notching two assists on the season.
- Â Freshman
Tom Carles is an emerging star for the Choctaws. The freshman scored two goals in the victory over Shorter this past weekend and was named GSC Freshman of the Week for his performance.
CHRISTIAN BROTHERS NOTES
- The Buccaneers will bring an overall record of 2-4-2 and 1-1-2 in GSC play.
- CBU's lone win in GSC play was over national ranked West Alabama and they are coming off a 1-1 draw against Union this past Sunday.
- The top two playmakers for the Bucs are Maximillian Galizzi and Xavi Lao. Galizzi has scored two goals and notched one assist on the year and Lao has also netted two goals for the team this season.
UNION NOTES
- The Bulldogs will bring in an overall record of 1-5-2 and 1-3-1 in GSC play.
- The Bulldogs lone GSC win came against UAH by a score of 1-0. UAH is one of the two GSC losses for the Choctaws on the year.
- Union's three top playmakers on offense are Felipe Firmino, William Valencia and AJ Morgado. They have each scored two goals this season and the group has accounted for half of the Bulldogs goals this year.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Choctaws will bring in an all-time record of 3-2 against Christian Brothers, the last meeting between the two schools was a 1-0 victory for MC in Clinton a year ago.
- MC has an all-time record of 2-1-1 against Union and the last match between the two was a 3-0 victory for the Bulldogs in Clinton last season.

- Both matches will have live stats/live video (weather permitting) and will be available on both Christian Brothers' and Union's athletics websites.
- Friday's match against Christian Brothers is currently scheduled for a 7:00 P.M. start time.
