FLORENCE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College football team battled back in the second half but fell to Division I-FCS North Alabama, 34-17, on Saturday night at Braly Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
- The Lions got the scoring going with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Christian Lopez to Cortez Hall on the opening drive of the game.
- Lopez would extend the UNA lead to 14-0 with a five-yard run, capping off an 11-play, 95-yard drive.
- The Choctaws answered on their very next offensive play as
Aaron Feazelle uncorked a 70-yard touchdown pass to
Cole Rotenberry to cut the lead in half.
- The Lions scored the next two touchdowns and would grab a 28-7 lead with 5:50 remaining in the first half.
- Again, MC would respond as they went on an eight-play, 63-yard drive that took 4:23 and ended with a two-yard touchdown run by
Tiberias Lampkin, his third scoring run in two weeks.
- The Lions would send the game into halftime with a 31-14 score as Chandler Carrera hit a season-long 46-yard field goal as time expired.
- The Choctaws scored the only points of the third quarter as
Drake McCarter hit a 28-yard field goal, making the score 31-17 with 3:50 remaining.
- The Lions finally broke through in the second half with 1:49 remaining as Carrera hit a 47-yard field goal to make the score 34-17.

- The Choctaw defense held North Alabama scoreless in the 3rd quarter, only allowing 10 total yards to the Lions.
- The Choctaws rushed for 228 yards on 42 carries and completed 9-of-16 passes for 148 yards, tallying 376 total yards on the evening.

Detric Hawthorn came off the bench to lead the way with 106 rushing yards on 17 attempts.
- Lampkin carried the ball eight times for 60 yards and a score.

Elijah Rogers led the way with six tackles and two pass breakups, while
D.J. Smith had four tackles and a sack on the night.
- Christian Lopez completed 15-of-22 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns, also rushing for 19 yards and a score.
- Cortez Hall caught six passes for 115 yards and a touchdown, while Damon Cox carried the ball 14 times for 105 yards.
