Men's Soccer Shuts out Harding 2-0 at Home

CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team knocked off the Harding University Bison 2-0 on Sunday, Sept. 10 at Longabaugh Field. With the win, the Choctaws improve to 3-0-1 on the year.
 
TURNING POINT
  • Leading by just one goal, the Choctaws doubled their lead in the 52nd minute of the match when junior defender Rafael Costa delivered a perfect ball to sophomore Connor Johnson, who was able to finish the setup for his second goal of the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MC struck pay dirt in the 17th minute, when Senior winger Jacob Farthing took a Victor Bazan pass and found the back of the net for the eventual game-winner. The Choctaws would take the 1-0 lead into the half.
  • Johnson's strike in the 52nd minute paved the way for the final 2-0 score.
 
KEY STATS
  • Both Farthing's and Johnson's goals marked for their team-leading second on the season.
  • Bazan's and Costa's assists both marked for their firsts as Choctaws.
  • The Choctaws outshot the Bison 19-10 in the match, with seven of MC's shots coming on frame.
