CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team concluded regular-season play on Saturday afternoon with an 8-1 victory over Gulf South Conference opponent Lee University. The win gives the Lady Choctaws their fourth in a row, and caps off their 2017 regular season at 13-7 overall and 7-3 in the GSC.
In singles,
Brenna Keller (6-4, 6-3),
AnneMarie Kimball (6-1, 6-3),
Aneta Golawska (6-1, 6-3) and
Anna Shuliak (6-3, 6-1) all defeated their opponents in straight sets. Golawska's victory over Krista Good in the number three matchup improved marked for her 10
th single's victory of the season, joining Kimball as the only other Lady Choctaws with double digit wins in singles (12-6).
In doubles, the duos of Keller and Kimball (8-3) and
Christa Owen and Shuliak (8-0) both improved to a perfect 4-0 as partners on the season with their respected victories at the number one and three spots.
The Lady Choctaws will return to action on Thursday, April 20 against number-five seed North Alabama in round one of the Gulf South Conference Women's Tennis Championship in Montgomery, Ala. Match time is slated for 9:00 a.m.
