LIVINGSTON, Ala. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to the #26 nationally-ranked University of West Alabama Tigers on Thursday afternoon. With the loss, MC's record drops to 4-4 overall, and 1-1 against Gulf South Conference opponents.

Sofia Gonzalez-Carrera and
Christa Owen grabbed MC's lone double's point on the day, knocking off Evelyn Moreno and Andrea Tomassone 9-8 (7-5).

In singles play,
AnneMarie Kimball (6-4, 6-0) and
Anna Shuliak (6-4, 6-2) defeated their UWA counterparts in straight sets. For Kimball, the junior Belhaven University transfer notched her team-leading sixth win in singles play on the season.

The Lady Choctaws will return to action on when they travel to Mobile, Ala. to face off against the University of Mobile. Match time is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
