CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team knocked off Shorter University 8-1 on Friday afternoon for their fifth straight win. With the victory, the Lady Choctaws improve to 9-4 overall and 4-1 against Gulf South Conference opponents.

In singles play,
AnneMarie Kimball improved to a team-best 8-4 on the season with a victory over Aleksandra Durzynski in straight sets (6-2, 7-5).
Anna Shuliak (6-0, 6-0) and
Christa Owen (6-0, 6-0) both did not a single game in the shutouts of their opponents in straight sets.
Brenna Keller (6-0, 6-1),
Aneta Golawska (6-1, 6-0) and
Sofia Gonzalez-Carrera (6-2, 6-2) all bested their opponents in straight sets.

In doubles action, Kimball and Shuliak grabbed their 10
th win as a duo on the year, defeating Melinda Chrun and Julie Rinderknech in the number two spot 8-6. Gonzalez Carrera and Owen Sadie Westberry Mary Emily Corbin 8-1 for their eighth victory as a pair this season.

The Lady Choctaws will return to action on Tuesday, March 28 when they travel to Montgomery, Ala. to take on the number 30
th ranked Warhawks of Auburn University at Montgomery. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
