CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team collected their 10th straight victory, finishing off a three-game sweep of West Georgia on Friday afternoon at the MC Softball Complex.
The Lady Choctaws (20-11, 12-6 GSC) erased an early five-run deficit to get an 8-7 win in the first game of a doubleheader, following that up with a 10-2 victory in six innings over the Wolves (14-17, 6-12 GSC).

GAME ONE: Mississippi College 8, West Georgia 7
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wolves got off to a fast start with a 5-0 lead, scoring twice in the first and third and getting one run in the second. Summer Wallace's two-run double in the third capped off the early run.
- The Lady Choctaws saw their bats wake up in the bottom of the third, scoring seven runs on eight hits, their highest-scoring inning of the season.
- Senior
Megan Everett led things off with a single and came home to score on a single up the middle by senior
Haley Thompson to cut the score to 5-1.
- Thompson single started a run of seven straight batters with hits for MC, including a two-run double by freshman
Carly Crawford that gave MC a 6-5 advantage.
- MC pushed the lead to 8-5 in the fifth inning when Everett singled home pinch-runner
Shayla McKissock.
- The Wolves would make things interesting with runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but a groundout to pitcher
Marley Peagler ended the game for MC's ninth straight win.
KEY STATS
- Peagler (5-1) came out of the bullpen and pitched 5.0 innings to get the victory, allowing seven hits and four earned runs.
- Sophomore
Adrianna Morgan started for MC, pitching the first 2.0 innings and giving up just one earned run.
- Four different Lady Choctaws had multiple-hit games for MC, led by Crawford with two RBI and a run scored.
- Kathryn Woody (4-5) took the loss for West Georgia, giving up six hits and six earned runs over 2.1 innings.
- Four Wolves had multi-hit games, led by Peyton Stallworth and Wallace with two hits and two RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior
Tylan Buckley got the scoring going in the first with an RBI groundout to drive home Thompson.
- After the Wolves tied things up with a run in the first, the Lady Choctaws put up four runs in the second as Thompson and junior
Katherine Lee drove in runs with singles to make the score 5-1.
- MC would push the lead out to 8-1 in the third as sophomore
Alexia Harmon scored on a sacrifice fly by senior
Lauren Mulligan and Buckley drove in Everett with a fielder's choice.
- UWG added a run in the sixth, but MC closed the game out with two runs in their half of the sixth when junior
Heath Griffith drove in Buckley and freshman
Brister Curry scored on a wild pitch.
KEY STATS
- Lee and Everett led the MC offense with two hits apiece, while Buckley had a team-high two RBI and Thompson, Harmon and Everett scored twice.
- The Lady Choctaws also stole four bases in the victory, giving them 99 on the season.
- Sophomore
Penny Nichols (11-5) tossed her second complete game of the series, scattering eight hits and one earned run over 6.0 innings.
- Raven Smith led all players with three hits for West Georgia, while Wallace and Katie McMillan scored runs.
- Adriana Durden (4-3) took the loss for UWG, giving up six hits and five earned runs in 2.0 innings.

GAME NOTES
- With Saturday's doubleheader, Everett became the school's all-time leader in games played (185), passing
Kimmie Conley (2013-16), who played 183 games in her career.
- Head coach
Brooke O'Hair has now won 298 career games, continuing her mark as the school's all-time leader in wins.
