CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team will welcome the University of West Georgia to Clinton for a three-games series, beginning with a single game on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. The series wraps up on Friday with a doubleheader at 2:00 p.m. at the MC Softball Complex.
The three-game set had been originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but due to expected inclement weather in the area, it was moved up to get all three games in.

ALL-TIME SERIES
- MC and UWG have met 16 previous times with the Lady Choctaws holding a 12-4 edge in the series. Since returning full-time to the GSC in 2015, MC is 5-1, including a 3-game sweep last season in Carrollton. After cruising to a 4-1 win in game one, the Lady Choctaws needed three late home runs to win 5-1 in game two. The series finale saw the Wolves bring the winning run to the plate, but MC held on for the sweep with a 5-4 victory.

THE LATEST
- The Lady Choctaws have won seven straight games after a 5-0 week with wins against Alcorn State and Christian Brothers last weekend. MC outscored their opponents 45-4 in the doubleheader win over the Division I Lady Braves and three-game sweep of the Lady Bucs.

Alexia Harmon has been the hottest of the Lady Choctaw hitters, batting .545 with three doubles since the start of the Union series on March 12th.

Katherine Lee (.394) is the team's leading hitter and ranks 8th in the Gulf South Conference with 37 hits and 2nd with 19 stolen bases, only trailing senior
Haley Thompson with 30 swipes.

Tylan Buckley (.363) has a team-best .613 slugging percentage with five home runs, three doubles and a triple to go along with a team-high 23 RBI.

Carly Crawford (.346) has started all 28 games behind the plate and has a team-high six doubles with four home runs and 22 RBI.

Penny Nichols (9-5, 2.52 ERA) leads the pitching staff in innings pitched (91.2), complete games (8) and strikeouts (43).

- The Wolves opened the season with four straight wins and had an identical 6-6 Gulf South Conference mark to the Lady Choctaws after 12 games. UWG was then swept by West Florida in Carrollton, being outscored by the Argonauts, 29-5.
- Rookie Raven Smith (.429) is the team's top hitter and has twice been named GSC Freshman of the Week, as well as, a Player of the Week selection.
- Marley Stowers (.389) leads the team with eight home runs, three triples and six doubles, while Peyton Stallworth (.388) has a team-high 24 RBI.
- Kathryn Woody (4-4, 2.28 ERA) is the team's top pitcher, but has missed the previous two GSC series.
-Â Adriana Durden (4-2, 4.23 ERA) leads the pitching staff with 22 strikeouts, while Lindsye Jefferson (4-4, 5.43 ERA) has tossed a team-high 47.2 innings on the year.

Megan Everett (Pearland, Texas) has been a starter in left field for the Lady Choctaws since stepping on campus for the 2014 season. She currently ranks second in school history in games played (182) and at-bats (559), just one away from tying both records. Everett is on pace to take down both marks in this weekend's series against West Georgia.
-Â The Lady Choctaws went 5-0 last week with wins over Division I Alcorn State and GSC-foe Christian Brothers. MC outscored their opponents 45-4 and hit nearly .400 as a team over the five victories, giving them seven straight wins. The two shutouts for the Lady Choctaws on Saturday and Sunday were the first blankings of the year and the 14 hits on Sunday was a season-high.
-Â On Monday, March 13th, the Lady Choctaws secured the 700th victory in program history with a 13-8 win over Union. The first win for MC came on March 22, 1986 with a 6-2 win over Tennessee-Martin. On Friday, February 10th, the Lady Choctaws played at Montevallo, which was the 1,200th game in Mississippi College softball history. The first game on record was on March 14, 1986 when MC played Troy State in Columbus, MS (L, 13-14).

Brooke O'Hair is in her 11th season as MC's head softball coach, already sitting atop the list of most wins in school history. Of the six 30-win seasons in school history, the former Mississippi State second baseman has achieved the feat five times. Following the school-record 39 wins in 2016 and the nine this season, O'Hair is just five victories away from 300 for her career. She was named the NCCAA National Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Choctaws to a national championship last season.
