MOBILE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team defeated the #8 ranked team in the NAIA in the University of Mobile Lady Rams 6-3 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Lady Choctaws improve their overall record to 5-4 on the season.
 
The Lady Choctaws grabbed all three points in doubles play to get out to the early 3-0 lead over Mobile. Brenna Keller and Aneta Golawska defeated Mariah Plauth and Sina Marchione in the doubles number matchup for their team-best seventh doubles victory of the year. AnneMarie Kimball and Anna Shuliak bested Silvia Martinkova and Lena Schwerdtfeger 8-6 in the doubles number two spot, and Sofia Gonzalez-Carrera and Christa Owen knocked off Lea Junggeburth and Marina Capitani 8-3 in the doubles number three matchup.
 
In Singles play, Katie Reid ousted Lea Junggeburthd in straight sets in the doubles number six spot to grab her team-high fifth singles win on the season (6-1, 6-2). Gonzalez-Carrera (6-2, 6-0) and Shuliak (6-3, 6-3) both also won their singles matchups in straight sets.
 
The Lady Choctaws will return to action on Monday, March 13 when they face off against Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
