CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team will hit the road again this weekend as they travel to Livingston for a three-game series with West Alabama. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at noon, followed by a single game on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the UWA Softball Complex.

ALL-TIME SERIES
MC and West Alabama have met 61 previous times, dating back to 1986, with MC holding a 35-26 edge in the series. The Lady Choctaws swept the series in Clinton last season, outscoring the Tigers, 21-6 over three games. The last time the schools met in Livingston (2015), MC won the series, but it was a high-scoring weekend with both schools averaging at least 8.0 runs per game. Since re-joining the GSC prior to the 2015 season, MC is 5-1 against the Tigers.

- The MC softball program is just four wins away from 700 with the first coming on March 22, 1986 in a 6-2 victory ovrer Tennessee-Martin in Florence, Ala.
- Head coach
Brooke O'Hair is only 14 wins away from 300, posting a .609 winning percentage in her 11th season. She has recorded 5-of-6 30-win seasons in school history.
- Senior
Megan Everett is just 15 games away from breaking the school record for games played in a career. The Pearland, Texas native is looking to pass
Kimmie Conley (2013-16), who played 183 contests.
- Sophomore
Penny Nichols was named the Gulf South Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her efforts in three wins over Spring Hill and West Florida last week. The Orange City, Fla. native went 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA, tossing three complete games and allowing just three earned runs.
- Both teams are coming off series wins in their GSC openers last weekend. The Lady Choctaws took 2-of-3 at West Florida, while the Tigers won twice at home against Delta State.
- Mississippi College was picked to finish 6th in the GSC preseason poll, while West Alabama was picked 10th.
