CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team will wrap up their 2017 regular season on Thursday, Oct. 26 when they take on Gulf South Conference opponent and in-state rival Delta State University.

MC NOTES
- The Lady Choctaws (12-2-1, 11-2 GSC) head into Thursday's matchup tied for first place in the GSC standings with Lee University. MC boasts an unblemished record of 6-0 on their home field this year.
- The Lady Choctaws can clinch the number one seed in the upcoming GSC Postseason Tournament with a win over Delta State, and a loss or tie by Lee against Shorter University on Thursday, Oct. 26
- In their most recent action, the Lady Choctaws knocked off Auburn University at Montgomery 3-2 on Saturday, Oct. 21
- In the most recent United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Rankings, MC found themselves ranked at #14, matching their on Oct. 10 ranking as the highest in program history since becoming a full-time member of division II. The Lady Choctaws also checked in at number two in the South Regional Rankings compiled by the United Soccer Coaches.
- Freshman forward
Holly Pascoe was named the GSC Freshman of the Week for her three-point performance in MC's 3-2 win against Auburn University at Montgomery on Oct. 21. The award marked for the third time that MC has had a player named the top freshman performer of the week for the 2017 season.
Lindsey Stephenson and
Emily McNair both garnered the award in previous weeks this season.
ON DEFENSE
- MC is led by a defense that paces the GSC in fewest goals allowed (9), goals against average (0.60) and shutouts (9), while ranking second in the conference in save percentage (0.827).
- Goalkeeper
Andrea McDonald leads all GSC keepers in fewest goals allowed (6), goals against average (0.528) save percentage (0.854) and shutouts (7). McDonald has compiled a record of 8-2-1 in goal for MC on the year.
- The Lady Choctaws will look to pitch their 10
th shutout of the season on Thursday, which would mark for the seventh time in program history that the Lady Choctaws recorded double-digit shutouts in a season; with the most recent occurrence coming in 2015.
- The Lady Choctaw's backline will look to end a two-match streak in which they have allowed at least one goal to their opponent. MC's 3-2 win over AUM on Saturday, Oct. 21 marked for the first time all season that the Lady Choctaws allowed a goal in back-to-back matches.
- The MC defense will also look to continue a streak of seven-consecutive matches in which they have not allowed double digit shots in a contest. Â The Lady Choctaws have allowed no more than seven shots on goal in a game on the season.
ON OFFENSE
- The Choctaw attack has seen a recent rise in production, averaging thee goals per contest over their last three games.
- MC is currently averaging 2 goals per match, with 30 scores netted on the season. Both are marks that rank for fifth in the Gulf South Conference. MC currently sits fourth in the conference in assists (28), total points (88) and average points per match (5.87).
- Junior forward
Lauren Smith currently paces the Lady Choctaws in goals scored (6), points accumulated (16) and game-winning goals (3). Smith currently sits tied with sophomore midfielder
Lauren Kate Carter with four assists distributed on the season.
- Sophomore forward
Emma Claire Furman's four goals marks for second on the team, while
Samantha Carson,
Emily McNair and
Katie Taylor have all contributed for three scores.

Katie Taylor all rank for second on the Lady Choctaws with three assists on the season.
DELTA STATE NOTES
- The Lady Statesmen (5-11-1, 3-9-1 GSC) will be wrapping up their 2017 season with Thursday's clash with MC.
- In their most recent action, Delta State played to a 2-2 draw with Montevallo University on Sunday, Oct. 22.
- On offense, the Lady Statesmen are currently averaging 1.41 goals per match, with 24 scored in 17 games.
- Freshman forward Jasmine McGill paces the Delta State attack with seven goals scored, and 15 total points accumulated on the year. Senior midfielder Lakyn Cryder leads the Lady Statesmen with three assists on the year.
- On Defense, the Lady Statesmen are currently allowing three goals per match, having allotted 51 over their 17-game slate. Sophomore goalkeeper Ana Branch (4-7-1) has seen the bulk of playing time between the posts, with a goals against average of 2.80 on the season.

 - The Lady Choctaws bring an all-time record of 5-0 against the Lady Statesmen into their matchup on Thursday. In their most recent meeting in 2016, MC bested Delta State 3-1 in Clinton, Miss.
