CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team will resume action in Gulf South Conference play this weekend, when they host the University of Montevallo on Friday Oct. 20, and Auburn University at Montgomery for Senior Day on Sunday, Oct. 22.

MC NOTES
- The Lady Choctaws (10-2-1, 9-2 GSC) are coming off of a 4-0 victory at Spring Hill College on Sunday, Oct. 15. The win officially clinched a berth in the GSC Postseason Tournament for the Lady Choctaws.
- MC currently sits in third place in the Gulf South Conference, behind Lee University and North Alabama.
- In the most recent United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National Rankings, the Lady Choctaws found themselves ranked number 20. MC was tabbed number three in the - South Regional Rankings, the second-highest ranking for any GSC-affiliated school.
- The Choctaws are led by a stout defense that has allowed six goals and boasts a 0.449 goals against average through 13 games, a mark that paces the GSC and ranks ninth in the country. Â
- Goalkeeper
Andrea McDonald currently leads all GSC goalkeepers with seven shutouts and a goals against average of 0.48 that also ranks 15
th in the country.
- On the offensive side of the ball, the Lady Choctaws have netted 25 goals in 13 matches, for an average of 1.92 per contest.
- Junior forward
Lauren Smith currently leads the Lady Choctaws in goals (5), assists (4), total points (14), and game-winning goals (3). Smith's three game-winning strikes ties her for second in the GSC.
- Sophomore forward
Emma Claire Furman currently sits in second on the Lady Choctaws with four goals scored on the season, while
Lauren Kate Carter,
Madison Moser and
Katie Taylor have all registered three assists on the season for second-best on the team.

MONTEVALLO NOTES
- The Falcons (8-5-1, 5-5-1 GSC) currently sit in ninth place in the GSC standings, just two points behind West Alabama and West Georgia for the final spot in the GSC Postseason Tournament.
- In their most recent action, Montevallo cruised to a 7-0 victory over Talladega College on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
- The Falcon offense is currently averaging 1.86 goals per contest, led by Allye Darnell's five goals scored on the season.
- Taylor Gonzales and Christiane Malone both lead the Montevallo offense with three assists.
- On defense, the Falcons are averaging 1.21 goals allowed per match. Goalkeeper Sydney Young brings a 1.31 goals against average into Friday's match.

AUM NOTES
- The Warhawks (5-8, 4-6 GSC) currently sit tied for 10
th place in the GSC standings.
- In their most recent action, AUM fell 2-0 to Lee on Friday, Oct. 13 and bested Shorter University 3-0 on Sunday, Oct. 15.
- The Warhawk attack is currently averaging 1.33 goals per contest. Ruby Mendez leads the Warhawks with seven goals scored and three assists.
- On the defensive side of the ball, AUM is currently averaging 2.58 goals allotted per match. Goalkeeper Felicia Wester has seen the bulk of playing time in goal for AUM, while posting a 2.68 goals against average.
- Prior to Sunday's match with MC, the Warhawks will travel to Cleveland, Miss. to take on Delta State on Friday, Oct. 20.

SERIES HISTORY
- The Lady Choctaws bring an all-time record of 1-0 against Montevallo into Friday's match. The Lady Choctaws defeated the Falcons 3-1 in their only meeting in 2014.
- Sunday's match with AUM will serve as the first meeting between the two.
