CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team will take to the road this weekend for a Gulf South Conference Contest at Spring Hill College on Sunday, Oct. 15.

MC NOTES
- The Lady Choctaws (9-2-1, 8-2 GSC) currently find themselves in second place in the GSC standings, having accumulated 24 points against conference opponents on the season.
- In their most recent action, MC fell 3-1 to North Alabama on Monday, Oct. 9 in Florence, Ala.
- In the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Rankings, the Lady Choctaws found themselves ranked #14 in the nation; the highest national ranking garnered by MC since becoming a member of Division II. The Lady Choctaws also found themselves ranked number two in the South Regional Rankings compiled by the United Soccer Coaches.
- The Lady Choctaw attack has netted 21 goals through 12 games, for an average of 1.75 per contest.

Lauren Smith leads the Lady Choctaw attack in total points (14), goals (5) and assists (4). Sophomore forward
Emma Claire Furman sits behind Smith, with three goals scored on the season.

- Both Carter and
Madison Moser sit second in the assist stat column, with three on the year.
- On the defense, the Lady Choctaws currently pace the GSC in fewest goals allowed (6), goals against average (0.50) and shutouts (8). MC's 0.50 goals against average currently ranks for 15th in the country, while ranking tied for 11th in the country with a 0.667 shutout percentage on the year.

Andrea McDonald (7-2-1) leads all GSC goalies in goals against average (0.48), save percentage (0.875) and shutouts (7). McDonald needs just three more shutouts to match both her career and program high of 10 set back in 2015.

SPRING HILL NOTES
- The Badgers (1-12, 0-9 GSC) will be looking to secure their first GSC victory of the season on Sunday.
- In their most recent action, Spring Hill fell 3-1 to Delta State on Thursday, Oct. 12 in Cleveland Miss.
- Spring Hill has scored eight goals in 13 matches on the season, for a mark of 0.62 per contest. Gabrielle Burmaster paces the Badger attack with four goals scored on the season.
- On the defensive side of the ball, Spring Hill has allowed 53 goals in 2017, for an average of 4.08 per match.
- In goal, Hannah Shankman and HP Fluharty have both seen adequate playing time for the Badgers. Shankman leads the team with 619 minutes in goal, and brings a 3.34 goals against average into Sunday's contest.

SERIES HISTORY
- The Lady Choctaws bring an all-time record of 5-2 against Spring Hill into Sunday's match, highlighted by wins in their last five meetings with the Badgers. In 2016, MC knocked off Spring Hill 7-0 on Oct. 29.
