CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team will take to the road and play against two Gulf South Conference opponents this weekend. The Choctaws will play against The University West Alabama in Livingston, Ala. on Friday, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville in Huntsville, Ala. on Sunday.

The Choctaws knocked off the Badgers of Spring Hill College 2-1 in overtime in their last contest on Sunday, Sept. 25. The win marked the Choctaws fourth straight victory, and their second straight Gulf South Conference win that came in the late minutes of overtime. Â

MC brings an overall record of 5-1-1 into the weekend. The Choctaws also look to improve on their unblemished GSC record of 3-0, a record that finds them atop the conference in first place.

Jorge Delgado leads the charge offensively for a Choctaw squad that is the top scoring offense in the GSC,and is tied for second in Division II, averaging four goals per game. MC also ranks second in Divison II and first in the GSC in points per game average, with 11.14. Delgado currently leads all players in the conference in goals (9), goals per game (1.29), total points (19) and points per game (2.71). The junior midfielder has notched two hat tricks this season, both coming in conference play.

Jacob Farthing's four goals on the season find him second on the team. The junior midfielder leads all Choctaws with two game-winning goals.
Horacio Gutierrez Jr. has accounted for three scores on the season, including the game winner versus Spring Hill on Sunday in overtime.

George Fradenburg leads all Choctaws, and is tied for the GSC lead, with four assists on the year. Farthing,
Julio Moreno, and
Dinho Zwane have all accounted for three assists for MC. The Choctaws currently rank first in the conference, and third in all of Division II, with a 3.14 assists per game average.

In Goal,
Humberto Pelaez has grabbed 22 saves on 31 attempts. The junior netminder posts a record of 4-1-1 on the year with two shutouts, and is holding opponents to 1.43 goals per game.

The Choctaws racked up two more weekly honors from the GSC this past week, bringing their season total to five.
Ben Roberts was recognized as the GSC Freshman of the Week, and Delgado picked up his second-consecutive GSC Player of the Week award.

The Choctaws bring an all-time record of 1-2 into the West Alabama matchup, and an 0-2 record into the UAH contest.
