MELBOURNE, Fla. --- The Mississippi College football team went on the road and dropped their first game of the season, falling to #22 Florida Tech 41-0 on Saturday night at Panther Stadium.
The Choctaws (1-1, 0-1 GSC) and the Panthers (2-0, 1-0 GSC) played the first Gulf South Conference game of the season for the nine-team league.
FIT wasted no time getting on the board, taking their first series in for a score as Antwuan Haynes scored from 52 yards out to put the Panthers ahead 7-0.
On the night, Florida Tech had six rushing touchdowns, including an 85-yard scamper by Gary Holmes, Jr. to open the fourth quarter.

Julian Charles led the MC defense with six tackles and a tackle for loss.
The Choctaws will be back in action on September 17th when they will host West Alabama at 7:00 p.m. at Robinson-Hale Stadium.
