CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College Men's College Soccer team will open up their regular season on the road this weekend, where they will face Nova Southeastern on Friday and Florida Tech on Sunday.
The 2016 campaign features the Choctaws return to full-time competition in the Gulf South Conference, after over 20 years in Division III. The Choctaws were picked to finish 7
th in the 2016 GSC Preseason Coaches' poll on August 4.
"We're excited about getting this season started and finally being able to compete for a Gulf South Conference Championship," Head Coach
Kevin Johns said. "It's something we've been looking forward to ever since we received the good news about our Division II membership this summer."
The Choctaws return 13 seniors, including team captain and Clinton-native
Graham Bobo, as well as
Jorge Delgado, who led all returners in goals scored last season.
Series
MC is 0-1 all-time versus both Nova Southeastern and Florida Tech. They played both opponents for the first time last season.
