TROUTVILLE, Va. --- The Mississippi College softball team showed off their offensive firepower in a 13-5 win over Emmanuel College to finish up pool play at the NCCAA World Series, held at the Botetourt Sports Complex.
The Lady Choctaws (37-19) wrapped up pool play with a perfect 3-0 record, scoring 38 runs over that stretch and outscoring their opponents 38-9.
MC takes "Pool A" with the perfect record and will face Judson (IL) in the semi-finals at 3:00 pm (CT). The Eagles, the #3 seed in the tournament, lost to Belhaven in extra innings in their final pool play game on Thursday morning.
After a scoreless first inning, junior
Lauren Mulligan got things going in the second with an RBI single to score junior
Tylan Buckley. Mulligan went 2-for-2 in the game with two runs scored and two RBI.

Megan Everett drove in two runs with a single, while freshman
Alexia Harmon had an RBI single to give MC a 4-0 advantage after two innings.

Kristen Qualls each had sacrifice flies in the fourth inning to give the Lady Choctaws a 6-0 lead after four frames.

Penny Nichols (16-7) tossed her second complete game in two days, giving up six hits and five unearned runs with three strikeouts.
After the Lions (30-26) scored a couple unearned runs in the fifth, the Lady Choctaws got four more in the top of the sixth, highlighted by a two-run double from senior
Madison Oliver.
Emmanuel hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, but Buckley came through with a two-RBI single in the seventh to give the game its final score.
On the weekend, Buckley is hitting .545 with a double, a home run and 10 RBI. The Lady Choctaws are also 17-of-18 stealing bases over their pool play games.
Sophomore
Katherine Lee led MC with three hits on the day, while Harmon, Buckley and Mulligan also had multiple-hit days. Six different Lady Choctaws had two RBI in the game.
