CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team grabbed a 5-4 win over rival Delta State in the final home match of the season on Thursday afternoon at the MC Tennis Complex.
The Lady Choctaws (8-8, 3-5 GSC) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead with wins in all three doubles matches.

Brenna Keller and junior
Christa Owen got things started with an 8-4 victory at #1, while freshman
Ashley Ochsenhirt and sophomore
Karly Matthews won the #2 point by a score of 8-4.

Courtney Schrock and junior
Katie Reid closed out the early sweep with an 8-6 win at #3.
The Lady Statesmen (7-9, 3-7 GSC) would begin a comeback in singles play, winning the #5 and #6 points in straight sets.
Schrock would give MC their 4th point of the day with a straight-set victory at the #4 (6-3, 7-5).
After DSU won the #2 match in three sets, the overall match came down to Keller and Nathalia Sato at #1.
Sato opened with a 6-3 victory, but Keller bounced back with a 6-4 win to send it to the final set. The sophomore would sweep six straight games to earn the win for MC.
The Lady Choctaws will close out the regular season this weekend when they travel to Huntsville, Ala. for a pair of matches. They will face UAH at 1:00 pm on Saturday and close things out with a neutral site match against Lee on Sunday at 10:00 am.
