PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team lost a pair of matches to nationally-ranked opponents, falling to West Florida (9-0) and Valdosta State (6-0) on the weekend.
The Lady Choctaws (7-8, 2-5 GSC) lost to the #6 Argos (16-3, 8-0 GSC) on Saturday, but sophomore
Brenna Keller made things tough.
The #1 singles and doubles player teamed up with freshman
Anna Shuliak to play the tighest doubles match, losing 8-6. In singles play, Keller took her match to three sets, falling 11-9 in the deciding frame.
In the loss to the #15 Blazers (10-6, 7-2 GSC) juniors
Christa Owen and
Courtney Schrock lost 8-4 at #3 doubles. VSU would win all three finished singles matches in straight sets.
The Lady Choctaws will play their final home match of the season on Wednesday when they will host rival Delta State at 2:00 p.m.
