CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team picked up their second Gulf South Conference win of the season with an 8-1 victory over West Georgia on Friday afternoon at the MC Tennis Complex.
The Lady Choctaws (7-5, 2-2 GSC) took a 2-1 lead afater doubles action, led by sophomore
Brenna Keller and freshman
Anna Shuliak winning the #1 point by a score of 8-3.

Karly Matthews and freshman
Ashley Ochsenhirt gave MC the early lead over the Wolves (2-6, 1-5 GSC) with an 8-5 win at #2.
MC would take over from there with five straight-set victories in singles play. Junior
Courtney Schrock (#5) dropped just one game on her way to a win, while Keller (#1) and junior
Christa Owen (#4) lost just three games.
Sophomore
Katie Reid (#2) won her match by a count of 6-3, 6-3, while Shuliak (#3) won, 6-4, 6-3.
The final match of the day went three sets, but Ochsenhirt won the deciding set by a score of 10-5 to pick up the clean sweep in singles.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Rome, Ga. to face Shorter at 12:00 p.m.
