ARKADELPHIA, Ark. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team split a pair of matches in Arkadelphia, Ark. at the Heflin Tennis Center.
The Lady Choctaws (2-3) dropped a morning match to Maryville (MO) by a score of 7-2. They would bounce back for an 8-1 win over the hosts Ouachita Baptist in the afternoon.
In the opener, sophomore
Brenna Keller picked up both points, teaming up with freshman
Anna Shuliak to take the #1 doubles point (8-2). She would also take the #1 singles point over Sarah Etter in three sets (6-1, 3-6, 10-6).
The Saints would go on to win the other seven points to take the victory. Shuliak fell in three sets at the #3 position (6-1, 1-6, 10-6).
In the second match, the Lady Choctaws would sweep doubles action, dropping just three total games. Keller and Shuliak swept the #1 point to open things.
In singles action, the Lady Choctaws would drop just one match, winning four of the five in straight sets. Freshman
Ashley Ochsenhirt dropped just two games to pick up the #6 point.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Wednesday when they host West Alabama for a Gulf South Conference match at 2:00 p.m.
