CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team will wrap up a 10-game homestand this weekend when they host West Alabama for a three-game series at the MC Softball Complex. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with a single game on Sunday at the same time.
THE COACHESThe Lady Choctaws are led by 10th-year head coach
Brooke O'Hair, who is the winningest skipper in Lady Choctaw history with 247 career victories. She has led MC to four 30-win seasons, three NCAA Regional appearances and two NCCAA World Series.
The Tigers are led by head 9th-year head coach Will Atkinson, who has posted a 261-192 record in his tenure. He has 395 career victories and has led UWA to four GSC Tournament appearances and a three NCAA South Regional trips.
THE SERIESThe Lady Choctaws and Tigers have played 58 previous times with MC holding a 32-26 edge in the series. Last season, MC went to Livingston and took 2-of-3 games as the teams combined for 54 total runs in three games. UWA last traveled to Clinton in 2007 as MC swept a doubleheader from the Tigers.
LAST TIME OUTThe Lady Choctaws are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Millsaps on Thursday, winning 6-2 in the opener and 11-3 in the finale.

Cheyenne Mathews hit a three-run home run in the run-rule victory.
The Tigers traveled to Cleveland, MS and dropped three games to Delta State. They lost the opener 3-2 on a walk-off by the Lady Statesmen, while DSU won the final two games 9-1 and 9-2.

Carlie Sargent ranks 3rd in school history in strikeouts/game (5.83), 8th in strikeouts (180) and 9th in lowest ERA (2.24).

Kimmie Conley ranks 9th in school history in RBI (70) and is tied for 15th in career games played (141).

Megan Everett became the 20th player in school history to reach the century mark in hits, pulling off the feat against Delta State. She now ranks 13th in school history with 109.
THE MATCHUPMathews (.400) is the team's leading hitter after going 3-4 with four RBI and her first career home run against Millsaps on Thursday. Everett (.340) was 5-8 with six RBI, two runs scored, a double and a triple against the Majors.

Kristen Qualls (.367) leads the team with 16 RBI, while rookie
Alexia Harmon (.365) has a team-high 19 hits.
Sargent (3-3, 2.53 ERA) tallied a season-high nine strikeouts against Millsaps, giving up just one hit over the complete game effort. Freshman
Penny Nichols (4-4, 3.27 ERA) has tossed a team-high 51.1 innings this season.
Sara Miles (.379) leads the Tigers in hitting, while Libby Davis (.318) and Ashley Stassin (.275) each have a team-high three home runs. Stassin and Audrey Diekmann (.316) lead the team with 11 RBI.
Amanda Medders (2-3, 2.89 ERA) leads the team with three complete games this season, while Andrea Edmonds (2-2, 4.12 ERA) has a team-high 14 strikeouts on the year.
