JACKSON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team opened the 2016 season with a 5-2 loss to Division I Jackson State, 5-2, on Tuesday afternoon at the JSU Tennis Center.
The Lady Choctaws (0-1) opened the day by winning the doubles point as sophomore
Brenna Keller and freshman
Anna Shuliak picked up a 6-2 win at the #2 position.

Ashley Ochsenhirt clinched the opening point with a 6-3 win at the #3 position.
In singles play, Shuliak grabbed another point with a three-set win (6-3, 0-6, 6-2) at the #4 spot over Ariel Dickson.
The Lady Tigers (3-5) would mount a comeback and win the final five singles matches to get the victory. Sophomore

Christa Owen each went to three sets in their matches.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Wednesday when they play their home opener against Alcorn State at 2:00 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex.
