CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team opens a 10-game homestand on Wednesday by hosting Miles College for a doubleheader at the MC Softball Complex. The twin-bill is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. first pitch.
THE COACHESThe Lady Choctaws are led by 10th-year head coach
Brooke O'Hair, who is the winningest skipper in Lady Choctaw history with 243 career victories. She has led MC to four 30-win seasons, three NCAA Regional appearances and two NCCAA World Series.
The Lady Golden Bears are led by head coach Patrick Peasant.
THE SERIESThis will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
LAST TIME OUTThe Lady Choctaws traveled to Cleveland, Miss. to open Gulf South Conference play, falling to rival Delta State three times at the University Softball Field. MC held a late 4-2 lead in the opener, but a two-out grand slam in the sixth gave DSU a 6-4 victory.
Playing without senior pitcher
Carlie Sargent (Oxford, Ala.), MC had to dig deep into their staff on the weekend, sending freshman shortstop
Alexia Harmon (Madison, Miss.) to the circle. The Madison Central standout pitched three scoreless innings to aid a stretched rotation.
The Lady Golden Bears have already played four Gulf South Conference opponents (North Alabama, Lee, West Florida, West Alabama) this season, being run-ruled in every contest.

Megan Everett (Pearland, Texas) became just the 20th player in school history to reach the century mark in hits, going 3-for-5 against Delta State on Saturday.

Kimmie Conley (Kenner, La.) ranks 29th in school history with 91 career hits and ranks 9th in school history with 68 career runs batted in.

Carlie Sargent (Oxford, Ala.) ranks 8th in school history with 162 career strikeouts and is 11th in innings pitched with 193.0
