CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's soccer team will continue Gulf South Conference play as they host Alabama Huntsville on Friday and West Alabama on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 3:30 p.m. at Longabaugh Field.
The Choctaws (0-5, 0-1 GSC) attack is led by
Kendall Carballo with two goals. The offense has put up 38 shots making two finishes on the season.
Leading MC's defense is senior
Josh Barrera (Houston, Texas),
Perry Goldsbury (Derby, England), and
Daniel Lang (Jackson, Miss.) who have kept their opponents to 64 shots. In goal for the Choctaws is sophomore
Humberto Pelaez (Panama City, Panama) who has posted a 1.88 goals against average while making 18 saves.
Alabama Huntsville (3-2) will open their GSC play to the Choctaws. Leading the offense is Jordan Wright who has recorded seven goals and four assists. James Ballamy has tallied four goals and Hermann Bjornsson has posted four finishes with one helper. Michael Winstone has spent the majority of time in goal for the Chargers making 19 saves with a 1.83 goals against average.
West Alabama's (1-4-1) offense is led by Clay Green with two goals and one helper. Brian Meadows, AJ Williams, Alex Brown and Jean-Baptiste Meyniel have tallied one goal apiece. In goals for the Tigers is Brad Louis who has played 366 minutes between the posts making 25 saves with one shutout and a 1.97 goals against average. Joshua Bramwell has spent 200 minutes in goal with one shutout victory, 15 saves and a 0.45 goals against average.
