MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team snapped a three-match losing streak with a 9-0 victory over Christian Brothers University on Wednesday afternoon at the TPC at Southwind.
The Lady Choctaws (7-7, 3-5 GSC) had gone through a tough line of opponents, dropping matches to nationally-ranked Valdosta State and West Florida in Pensacola last weekend.
They were able to get an easy victory on Wednesday that saw no one lose more than three games in doubles and straight-set victories in all six singles matches.
Sophomore
Courtney Schrock and freshman
Brenna Keller blanked Carley Lane and Tyler Napier, 8-0, in the #2 doubles match.
Keller would play her first singles match of the season, missing the opening part of the year after surgery following last season. She would get a 6-0, 6-1 win over Rebecca Johnston at #4.
Schrock and freshman
Karly Matthews swept the #5 and #6 singles by scores of 8-0.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Friday when they will host Shorter in a GSC contest at 2:00 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for Saturday, but has been moved up due to rain chances.
