MOBILE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College women's tennis team opened their Spring Break road trip with an 8-1 win over the University of Mobile on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Choctaws (2-2) opened play with a sweep of doubles action, winning each match by a score of 8-3. The freshman team of Karly Matthews and Katie Reid won at #2 over Ambria Phillips and Jordan Grissom.

In singles play, MC won 5-of-6 six matches, with each victory coming in straight sets. Freshman Sofia Gonzalez-Carerra did not give up a game in the 6-0, 6-0 win over Lea Junggeburth at #1. Sophomore Courtney Schrock also played a perfect match with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Grissom.

The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Tuesday when they face Transylvania in Orange Beach, Ala.
