CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Mississippi College softball team will open a 10-game road swing on Thursday when they travel to East Tennessee for a doubleheader with Tennessee Temple at 12:00 p.m. (Central) at Warner Park.
The Lady Choctaws (11-6) are coming off a series win over West Georgia at the MC Softball Complex, taking the first and final games of the three-game set. MC sits in third in the Gulf South Conference, posting an 8-3 mark over the first 11 contests.

Shay Mickens had a big series against UWG, going 6-of-12 (.500) with two doubles and five runs scored. In the series finale, sophomore
Megan Everett had the game-winning two-run single, giving the Lady Choctaws a 3-1 win.
Junior
Carlie Sargent (8-1, 1.80 ERA) tossed her fifth complete game of the season in the finale against the Wolves, scattering nine hits with four strikeouts in the win. She leads the team with 42 strikeouts in a team-high 54.1 innings pitched.
Senior
Lacie Patterson (2-3, 3.19 ERA) allowed just one earned in a complete game effort against UWG last time out. In a win over Union on February 19th, she pitched a complete game shutout, giving up just four hits.
Senior
Brooke Smitherman is the team's leading hitter, posting a .413 average with a team-high 11 RBI. Junior
Madison Oliver is hitting .367 with a team-high five doubles.
The Crusaders (1-5) have had trouble getting on the field this season with mother nature playing a big roll. TTU has seen 15 of their first 21 games be either postponed or canceled due to weather. Their lone victory came back on February 14th against Berea College, 8-7.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action this weekend in Cleveland, Tenn. when they face Lee University for a three-game series, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (Central).
