CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College softball team will be back in action this weekend when they host #7 Alabama Huntsville to the MC Softball Complex for a three-game series. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. with a single game on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
The Lady Choctaws are led by head coach
Brooke O'Hair, who is in her 9th season at the helm and collected her 200th career win last season. The Chargers are led by 20th-year head coach Les Steudeman, who earned her 900th career win earlier this season.
MC is coming off a series sweep of Union University at home last weekend. The Lady Choctaws had walk-off wins in the opener and the finale and used an outstanding pitching performance by
Lacie Patterson in the second game to pick up the victory. MC allowed just three runs over 24.0 innings in the series.
Patterson is 2-1 on the season with a 2.68 ERA, but over her last three appearances, the senior has allowed just eight hits and two earned runs over 17.0 innigs. Junior
Carlie Sargent got two wins against Union last weekend and is now 5-1 with a 0.98 ERA and 33 strikeouts.

Brooke Smitherman (.500) is the team's leading hitter and has posted a .622 on-base percentage with 11 walks on the season. Junior
Madison Oliver (.400) leads the team with five doubles and ranks 2nd on the team with seven runs scored.

Shay Mickens (.356) leads the team with eight runs scored and seven stolen bases on the year. Senior
Macey Lee (.278) ranks 2nd on the team with seven RBI and has driven in game-winning runs twice this season, including a walk-off sac bunt to score Mickens on Friday against Union.
Junior
Ashley Subervielle has gotten her offense going lately, hitting .643 (9-for-14) over the last four games. She had the game-winning two RBI single to score Oliver and Lee in the series-opening win over Union.
The Chargers have won seven of their last eight games, including six straight on the season. UAH is currently ranked 7th in the most recent NFCA Top 25 Poll.
Brianna Sullivan (.455) is the team's leading hitter, tallying 20 hits and tying Victoria Frith (.361) for the team-high in stolen bases (10). The two are also tied for second on the team with 11 runs scored, just two behind team-leader Kaitlyn Bannister (13).
Tyler Harrison is 5-0 with a 1.46 ERA and two shutouts in the circle this season. Emily Glover is 2-2 with a 3.41 ERA and a team-high 22 strikeouts. Kimberly Jack is 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA and 18 strikeouts, also tallying a team-high two saves.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE SERIESThis will be the first-ever meetings between MC and UAH as MC left the Gulf South Conference at the same time the Chargers were starting their program in 1995.

Brooke Smitherman is already MC's all-time leader in home runs (25), runs batted in (110), slugging percentage (.749), on-base percentage (.583) and walks (126). She ranks 2nd in school history in batting average (.426), doubles (38) and total bases (262).
Senior
Macey Lee is MC's all-time leader in doubles (39) and ranks 2nd in stolen bases (61), 23 behind Jennifer Jones (2008-11). Lee also ranks 3rd in hits (151) and runs scored (109).

Shay Mickens set a school record with 44 stolen bases in 2014 and is currently third in school history in career stolen bases (51). She also ranks 4th in on-base percentage (.439) and 7th in batting average (.367).
