MOBILE, Ala. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team picked up their fifth straight win for the second time this season with a 2-0 victory over Spring Hill on Friday afternoon.

Freshman goalkeeper Andrea McDonald set a new school record with her 9th shutout of the season, making eight saves in the match. The previous record was held by April Moss, who tallied eight blankings in 1999.

Overall, the MC defense has allowed just one goal over the last seven matches, a span of nearly 682 minutes. Opponents have only gotten double-digit shots off in three of those matches with the Baders putting up a high of 17 in that span.

The Lady Choctaws (12-1-3, 7-1-2 GSC) and the Badgers (1-10-3, 1-9-1 GSC) were scoreless through the first half, but senior Sayit Mejia Bello would score the eventual game-winner in the 53rd minute with her 5th goal of the season on an assist from freshman Gaylynn Cooper.

Not even a minute late, freshman Jess Davenport extended the lead, scoring her 10th goal of the season on an assist from Mejia Bello. The Widnes, England native has now scored 10 goals in 9 matches this season.

While the scoring was over after Davenport's tally, the action did not end there. In the 67th minute, the two teams saw the match turn chippy and five red cards were given with three MC players and two SHC players sent off. The match finished with only 17 players remaining on the pitch.

MC will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Pensacola to face West Florida at 3:00 p.m.
