CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team will travel to Jackson to face Millsaps on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
The Lady Choctaws (10-1-3, 6-1-2 GSC) come off a successful weekend, defeating Shorter 1-0 on Friday and snapping Lee's 7-game win streak with a come-from-behind 2-1 win on Sunday.
MC's offense has recorded 35 goals on the season through a balanced effort led by freshman
Jess Davenport (Widness, England) and sophomore
Caitlin Hayes (Warrington, England) who have recorded seven goals apiece. Senior
Sayit Mejia Bello (Bogota Colombia) has recorded four goals with six assists while junior
Sydney Oliver (Kingwood, Texas) has tallied five goals with one helper.
The back line has made a major contribution to the offense's success as they have totaled eight finishes with 11 assists on the season. Leading the defense are senior
Meghan Dodge and freshman
Lauren Dodge (Palm Harbor, Fla.), junior
Madison Leonard (Cantonment, Fla.) and Hayes who have kept their opponents to just 126 shots, allowing nine goals on the season.
In goal for the Lady Choctaws is freshman
Andrea McDonald (New Orleans, La.) who has made 35 saves with eight shutout victories. McDonald has posted a 0.61 goals against average on the season, which would rank third in MC history.
MC has defeated Millsaps (3-12-1) five straight times. Last season the Lady Choctaws picked up a 5-1 win as
Macey Lee had two goals and
Sayit Mejia Bello,
Melanie Benner, and
Becca Dupuy had one goal apiece.
The Majors offense has put in 14 goals on the season. Leading the attack is Lindy Robichaux with six finishes and one assist and Molly Ambrose who has recorded three goals with one helper. In goal for the Majors is Olivia Gattuso who has posted a 3.78 goals against average, making 80 saves with one shutout victory.
