Bo Bell, a standout at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College last season, is this week's Athlete of the Week afte going 9-for-15 (.600) with four home runs, two doubles and 16 RBIs,  to pace a 5-0 week that included an East Division sweep of East Texas Baptist. He also walked four times, compiling a .739 on base percentage, and scored 11 runs. Bell was also named the American Southwest Conference East Division Hitter of the Week, winning the division's top weekly hitting award for the second time this season.

 

Bell is batting .444 with 9 homeruns and 51 RBI's for the Choctaws, the most RBI's by a Choctaw player since the 1985 season and the fourth most in school history. Bell also has 10 doubles and two triples this season for an .849 slugging percentage, good enough for second in the ASC. Bell ranks 5th in the ASC in batting average and leads the league with an on base percentage of .545.
