Senior DeOndre Haynes helped lead the Choctaws to two season-opening wins over Auburn Montgomery (73-71) and Spring Hill (72-66), averaging 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per contest. Haynes scored 15 of his team-high 19 points in the second half of the come-from-behind victory over the Badgers on Saturday. He scored 13 points in the win over AUM and went 14-of-16 (88%) from the foul line over the first two games.

Haynes and the Choctaws are back in action this Thursday when they host rival Delta State at 7:30 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.
