The Mississippi College softball team went 2-2 on their opening weekend in Arkadelphia, Ark. Â
The Lady Choctaws picked up a win against Arkansas – Monticello, 7-4. Junior Tylan Buckley (Philadelphia, Miss.) went 1-for-2 in the game. She had an insurance run in the seventh with a two-out solo home run, bringing the final score to 7-4. The Lady Choctaws fell against Ouachita Baptist 5-4. Buckley went 1-for-2 with two runs.
On Sunday, MC came up short against Harding, 7-6. Buckley had a battering average of 1.000 with a triple and two runs scored. MC picked up their second win of the season against Ouachita Baptist as Buckley went 2-for-3 with one double, two RBI’s and one run scored.
Buckley leads the team with a .667 batting average, six hits, six runs, and three RBI’s so far this season.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday for their first home games of the season, hosting William Carey for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
