Mississippi Colege Athletics

The Mississippi College men’s basketball team opened up their Gulf South Conference play on Thursday with a 69-65 win over West Alabama. Senior Tristan Moore (Senatobia, Miss.) was in the double figures with 13 points. He went 2-for-3 from the three-point line and 5-for-8 from the field. Moore recorded five assists with two steals.

The Choctaws fell short against West Georgia on Saturday, 95-92. Moore had his best scoring game of the season, putting up 22 points, and completing the double-double with 10 assits. He was also a perfect 3-of-3 from the three-point line. He posted two rebounds in the contest with two steals. In his two games at The Coliseum in Carrollton, the Senatobia native has tallied 24 helpers after recording 14 in the last year’s meeting. 

The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday as they host Union at 7:30 p.m. at A.E. Wood Coliseum.
