Against Nebraska-Kearney in singles play, Freshman Sofia Gonzalez-Carrera picked up a point for MC at #1 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
On Saturday the Lady Choctaws picked up a win against Lee University as Gonzalez-Carrera won her singles match 6-0, 6-4. Gonzalez-Carrera and Christa Owen won their doubles match 8-6 to help MC pick up their first Gulf South Conference win. Â
On Sunday, the Lady Choctaws opened the day with a victory at #1 as Gonzalez-Carrera and Owen got an 8-3 victory. In singles play, Gonzalez-Carrera won her seventh straight match, taking the #1 point with a 6-4, 6-1 win.
The Lady Choctaws will be back in action on Tuesday when they will host Lindenwood University at 2:00 p.m. at the MC Tennis Complex.
