Junior Tory Rice from Starkville, Miss. scored a season high 28 points, but the Mississippi College men's basketball team fell in a close batte to West Georgia, 86-85 on Thursday night.
With 9:05 remaining in the game, the Choctaws pulled ahead as Rice scored, giving the Choctaws their biggest lead of the game 72-68. Rice tied for the team-high in the contest with eight rebounds. The Starkville native was 10-of-15 from the field and 8-of-12 from the free throw line.Â
The Choctaws dropped to West Alabama on Saturday night, 74-58. Rice had his ninth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Choctaws will be back in action on Thursday night as they host Christian Brothers at 8:00 p.m. in A.E. Wood Coliseum.Â
