Freshman defensive back Mario Pun helped lead the Mississippi College football team to their third straight win with a 41-38 victory over Howard Payne University.

The Delray Beach, Fla. native was named the American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week after picking off his first two passes of the year.  He took one of those passes back for a 41 yard touchdown.

Pun's two interceptions ties the ASC single-game high and is one of four players with two picks in a game this year.

Pun and the Choctaws will celebrate "Homecoming" this weekend as they host Texas Lutheran at Robinson-Hale Stadium at 3:00 p.m.
