Not only was Becker awarded as the GSC runner of the week but was also named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week. It was the first time an MC runner was honored at the level and was for Becker’s performance at the Watson College Cross Country Classic. In the race last Friday morning, Becker posted a staggering 23:29 in the 8K, breaking not only the Choctaw Trails record, but also his own school record by a whopping 21 seconds. After dominating the meet held Clinton last week, the Choctaws move to the all-important GSC Championships, held in Huntsville, Ala., on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 8:30 a.m.
